Zatoichi stumbles upon a dying man who begs him to deliver money to a man named "Taichi". Zatoichi has no idea how to contact this man until he arrives in a small town harassed by gangsters, he discovers "Taichi" was the man’s young son. Along his travels he also meets a blind monk who causes Zatoichi to question his inscrutable lifestyle. Zatoichi happens to kill some gangsters and becomes a hero to the "Taichi" young son. Zatoichi must choose whether to use non-violence and set a good example, or set the the young boy on the right path in life.
